Signs Your Siding Needs Repair
Siding is your home’s first barrier against Puget Sound rain. Call us if you see any of these:
Cracks and holes
Even small openings let rain reach the sheathing behind the boards.
Warping or buckling
Boards that bow or pull away usually point to trapped moisture or bad fastening.
Soft or rotted boards
If a screwdriver sinks in near the bottom edge or trim, there is rot.
Peeling paint or failed caulk
Open seams at windows, doors, corners and trim are where water gets in.
Moisture or mold inside
Stains or musty walls inside can start with a leak in the siding.
Woodpecker or storm damage
Holes, loose panels and wind-blown pieces need sealing before the next rain.
Siding We Repair

T1-11 panel siding

We open the wall, replace rotted sheathing and trim, and rebuild the weather barrier.
Caulking & trim seal failure
Joints at windows, doors, corners and trim re-sealed before water gets behind the siding.
Repair or Replace? An Honest Answer
Some siding problems don’t need a whole new exterior. We’ll tell you which one your home needs and why.
Repair is usually enough when
- Damage is limited to a few boards or one wall
- The sheathing behind the siding is still solid
- Matching material is still available
Replacement makes more sense when
- Rot or moisture shows up on several walls
- The siding is brittle, faded or failing in many places
- Repairs would cost close to new siding on that wall
If both are reasonable, we’ll price both in writing so you can decide.

What Homeowners Say
★★★★★ 4.9 average from 191 reviews
“We got bids from 5 different companies and decided to go with Chase, and I’m so happy we did. The crew was always on time, professional, and did amazing work. We got a new roof, gutters, attic ventilation, and also had some construction work done to extend our porch awning.”
— Jenny Kindschy
“The team that was out did a wonderful job… They also let me know the builder’s method of wrapping the [shingle] onto the facia wasn’t how they do it, or would recommend doing it; which left a decent area of the facia unpainted… so they painted it for me.”
— James Etherington
“Very competitive pricing without a sacrifice of quality. I got multiple bids but they stood out for their professionalism [and] knowledge.”
— Brandon & Rachel Day

Siding Repair FAQ
How much does siding repair cost?
It depends on the material, how much is damaged, and whether there’s rot behind it. Replacing a few boards is a very different job from rebuilding a wall. We give you a written price after a free on-site inspection. Sending a photo with the form helps us come prepared.
Can you match my existing siding?
In most cases we can match the profile, size and texture. Older or discontinued colors can be hard to match exactly; when that happens we’ll show you the options before any work starts.
Will insurance cover storm damage?
Sudden damage from wind, storms or falling limbs is often covered by homeowners insurance. Gradual wear and rot usually isn’t. We’ll document the damage with photos you can send to your insurer.
How long does a siding repair take?
Many repairs are finished in a day or two once materials are on hand. Jobs with rot behind the siding take longer. Your written estimate includes the expected timeline.
Do you repair Hardie board?
Yes. We repair James Hardie and other fiber cement siding, including cracked planks, failed caulk joints and damaged trim.
Do I need a permit?
Small like-for-like repairs usually don’t, but larger replacements or structural repairs can, depending on your city. We’ll tell you if your project needs one.
