Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow, which means that Spring is coming up quick! So how do we prepare for spring? Well this year it includes attending the 2016 Northwest Flower and Garden Show! The Northwest Flower & Garden Show has been heralding the start of spring since 1989 and this year is not different! Starting Thursday the 17th and running through Sunday the 21st this celebration of spring will be held at the Washington State Convention Center, and Chase Construction North West, Inc. will be there!
About the Show
This year’s theme is “America the Beautiful”, and the designers for the show’s display gardens are embracing this full force. As the show celebrates the National Parks Service Centennial and famous American landmarks, this years garden designs can’t help but be inspirational and beautiful. We can’t wait to see them!
The Marketplace:
This is the place to discover the hottest new products, plants, and one of a-kind vintage items for your garden. With over 350 high-quality exhibitors featuring tools, furniture, repurposed items, and great ideas, there is bound to be something that you are looking for!
Garden Wars:
Benefitting local charities, Garden Wars is a battle between local tv and radio personalities. What is it? Working with identical plant and hardscape materials, the contestants will create 10’x10’ gardens. Each day a winner is chosen and $1,000 will be donated to the winning teams designated charity. Back from last year, this contest inspired by competitions such as “Junk Wars” and “Iron Chef,” will sure to entertain and inspire.
The Vintage Garden Market:
Do you like recycled and repurposed items in your home and garden? Then this is the place for you! Explore a collection of booths from 19 local vendors selling unusual and one-of-a-kind home and garden items, vintage signage, repurposed furniture, garden art and more.
City Living:
Head up to the skybridge to visit 10 patio gardens that offer tons of practical ideas and inspiration for small space and outdoor living. In just 6ft x 12ft these small space demonstrations show how to maximize space creatively, and beautifully.
Floral Competition:
Though it’s too late to join the competition, come to the Atrium Lobby and enjoy the visual sites of this years competition!
Treasure Hunt:
Bring your kids and enjoy this years treasure hunt together! In each of the Show Gardens is a hidden object to find! This year’s prize is a 4″ flowering plant grown by Cascade Cuts, courtesy of the Northwest Flower & Garden Show. You can pick up a Treasure Hunt form at each of the Information booths, as well as select gardens.
