National Safety Stand-Down Event
From May 4th to the 15th, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is set toย put on the largest ever occupational safety event, in follow-up to Workers Memorial Day. The agency designated the two week period as one dedicated to the National Safety
Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction. The goal of the event is to educate workers, and to prevent all types of construction fall hazards. Participants will range in industry and the agency expects unions, construction companies, contractors, trade associations, and industry employers to attend. โSafety Stand-Down is a voluntary event for employers to talk directly to employees about safety,โ states OSHAโs website. โThis Stand-Down focuses on โFall Hazardsโ and reinforcing the importance of โFall Prevention.โโ
