Another Year of NRCA Partnership
The NRCA, or National Roofing Contractors Association, has been the “professional voice of its members since 1886.” The association is deemed the leading authority in the roofing industry for information, education, technical assistance, advocacy, publications, programs, and support that helps your business grow. Here at Chase Construction North West Inc., we have partnered with the NRCA since 2011 and we are glad to have renewed our membership for the following year. We hope this helps us better serve you and ensures that our knowledge and operations are up to code.
How the NRCA Aids In Our Operations
The NRCA provides us with many resources and updates pertaining to our industry. Just in the last couple of months, the roofing world has been evolving in a number of ways that are vital to know and understand. Among a few are revised International Building Codes and International Energy Conservation Codes. An example of each is an exception from fire testing for slate roof systems that meet certain requirements and new requirements for reflectivity and emittance. Without knowing such codes right away, we would be unable to meet guidelines on our various roofing projects. The NRCA makes sure that we are on top of news in order to better serve you. The NRCA also gives its’ members the first look at newly enacted legislature. For instance, we recently received news of Baltimore and it being the first major city to adopt the International Green Construction Code for all buildings, effective April 1st. Next, our friends over at NRCA inform us of any legal issues surrounding our industry. This month, this involved 62 construction contractors and trainers. The Environmental Protections Agency has called out these members for enforcement actions involving lead paint and the cases involved 55 settlements and six complaints. This type of information informs us of actions to avoid and also exemplifies the consequences of failing to do so. We thrive more with such knowledge, and consequently, so do our customers. Lastly, the NRCA offers us free classes pertaining to subjects such as contract provision, fall-protection training, proper training, and roof safety. We continue our membership because we are passionate about providing the best services possible. As a dedicated company, we want to stay informed and up to date on any aspects surrounding our industry. We feel this extra knowledge will help us better serve you, which is our ultimate goal.
