Two Beautiful New Roofs Installed!

This week, we’d like to highlight two of our latest projects- one instituting the GAF Timberline shingle in the beautiful Lake Tapps area and the other a Nu- Ray metal roof in the Issaquah area. Our crew once again dedicated themselves to a job well done and both projects ended with satisfied customers and beautifully enacted roofing systems.
A Great Transformation in Lake Tapps!
In our Lake Tapps adventure, we installed the GAF Timberline shingle in Barkwood. After tearing off the initial layer of shake already on the roof, it was vital to install 7/16” OSB sheathing over the existing skip in order to create a solid substrate. Additional protection and safety measures were of course utilized, including GAF Weatherwatch as an ice & water shield in critical leak areas, and Tigerpaw synthetic underlayment as a vapor barrier. A complete roofing system is far from just new shingles, and we also put in place 1” x 3” eave starter metal as well as 2” x 2” black rake metal. Next, we vented the roof to code with GAF Cobra and removed and replaced the existing exhaust vent with a new RVO-38. It was then vital to remove and replace existing plumbing pipe boots with new, neoprene no-caulk metal- flange boots. Lastly, we installed the field shingles, which are always nailed instead of stapled to ensure a higher wind rating and greater peace of mind for the homeowner. As always, we immaculately completed job site clean-up, including a daily magnetic rake around the yard. Check out the before and after pictures below! What a great looking transformation!! A Metal Masterpiece in Issaquah!
Next, our capable crew installed a metal roofing system in the great city of Issaquah! This roof utilized the Nu-Ray Metals Series 6000 system. This is a 26G, 16” pencil ribbed standing seam metal panel. The color used was Weathered Copper. This roof again began with a standard cedar shake roof that we had to initiate the process by removing. We again installed sheathing over the existing skip, but this time with 1/2” CDX plywood.Though a metal roof is fairly different from a standard shingle, we still 
installed Ice & water shield around the entire perimeter edge and TigerPaw Synthetic Underlayment as a vapor barrier. The Ice & water shield was in this case installed in penetrations and in critical leak areas. Next, we provided and installed all necessary color-matched flashings on the step, pan, eave trim, gable end, and sidewall. Our crew installed a continuous vented ridge and replaced the existing exhaust vent with 1 RVO-38 and 3 4” direct connects. We installed standard hip and ridge panels as well as field panels, eave starter, and ridge as a complete roofing system. The last step was installing the metal roofing panels and again, completing thorough job site clean-up. The pictures again show a great finished product and a job well done by our team!
